You can view a Sample Ballot personalized to your address at the Secretary of State’s website, usually available 45 days before the election (Primary and General). This is the best way to see every local race, including city council, school board and judicial seats.
Advance Registration
To ensure you are on the pre-printed rolls, register by:
July 21, 2026 (for the Primary), or
October 13, 2026 (for the General)
Note: MN allows same-day registration at the polls if you miss these deadlines.
Absentee Ballots
Your ballot must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
To vote in Minnesota, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old on Election Day, and a resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days.

Ways to Register:
Online: Visit mnvotes.gov (requires a MN driver’s license, ID card, or the last four digits of your SSN).
By Mail: Download and print a paper application from the Secretary of State website.
Same-Day Registration: You can register at your polling place on Election Day. You will need proof of residence, such as a MN Driver's License or a utility bill (electronic or paper) dated within 30 days.
